Welcome to our Website
Greetings to all!
Our Annual General Meeting was held on June 25, 2022, and I was re-elected President of this great organization. I would like to say a big thank you for your confidence in re-electing me and I look forward to the year ahead. A new board was also elected for the next year. Please join me in welcoming:
- Cassandra Culpepper
- Tonya Campbell
- Reeva Goodman
- David Vaughn
- Charlene Lucas
- Wendy Joseph
- Albert Scheper
Myself and Reeva Goodman will chair the Independence Event, Wendy Joseph will work with Communications, P.R. and Social Media, David Vaughn will work with Community Outreach and Joel Alleyne and David Vaughn will work with Sponsorships.
Our board brings a variety of professional competencies and will focus on:
- Building our Emergency Disaster & Relief Fund
- Working closely with the Barbados Canada Foundation to support their scholarships and aid in sending medical equipment to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital
- Working closely with Bridge TO
It is still a challenging time for everyone as the pandemic continues to wreak havoc across the world, but we will steer the course. We have started our plans for Barbados’ 55th Year Independence Celebrations to be held late November 19, 2022. This year this event will be in-person, see flyer for details.
In the interim, we would love to hear from you. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, for this event or others, or if you would like to join any of the committees please feel free to reach out to us at info@barbadoscanada.org or bcasecretary1@gmail.com.
Warmest regards,
Mark Hoyte
